1.  Communication Skills- I have gained experience in effective communication from working in a customer service role at a grocery store. Additionally, I gained experience when working in a fast paced environment where effective communication was essential to delegating tasks in an organized way. This will be valuable as I work with clients.
  2. Interpersonal Skills- I have volunteered as a youth mentor where I have been exercising this skill weekly as I give listen to, problem solve with, and give advice to teen girls. These interpersonal skills will be very valuable to me as a councillor as I also listen, problem solve, and give advice.
  3. Emotional Stability- I have experience managing a busy schedule consisting of work, school, family, and volunteer work. I have learned to recognize my limits within a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, I have had the unfortunate experience of working with individuals who are not in a healthy emotional state, and was reliable and professional even when others were not. I demonstrated the emotional stability despite the emotions and actions of those around me. I have the ability of helping others with challenges without taking on their struggles personally.
  4. Self Motivated- I don’t need reminders to get work done, and do it in a timely manner, which will be beneficial as I need to chart for my clients and I will do appropriate research when necessary. I will support my patients as they need and will seek understanding when needed on my own.
